From Lab Work to Interview Evidence
Turn practical work into credible portfolio and interview examples.
STEP 01
Choose a problem worth explaining
Pick a project related to your target role. Define the user need, the constraints and how you will know the work is successful. A well-explained small project is more useful than a complex project you cannot defend.
STEP 02
Document decisions and results
Include a short overview, a diagram, setup instructions and validation steps. Explain a problem you encountered, the alternatives you considered and why you chose the final approach.
STEP 03
Protect confidential information
Remove credentials, private customer information and employer-owned material before sharing. Use anonymised or lab examples and explain which work you completed independently.
STEP 04
Prepare a concise interview story
Describe the situation, your responsibility, the action you took and the result. Be honest about what you know, what you practised with guidance and what you would investigate next.
